Good Morning Fordham All Saints students,

My students and I cannot wait to blog with you.  Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about our school, Florida and the United States. I know we will have many questions for you too.

      Hi Peter. My name is Gabriel. I love soccer too. I play it all the time. I have a big game this weekend. School is good but I like soccer more. I am reading the series by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I am on book three. It is called Sabotaged.

    We learn maths,english,PSHE,computering and we have a theme every term.Those are our main subjects.This term we are learning about the U.S.A.

      Hi EJ. We learn about math, reading, grammar, spelling, bible, science, history and then we have our electives. Our electives are: physical education, art, band, chorus, and computers. We also go to Chapel on Wednesdays. We are studying American history too.

      Hello my name is Tyler and my favorite city in the USA, is Orlando, Atlanta, Greenville, Chicago, and New York! I have been to three of these cities and two cities I haven't been to yet, but I want to. I really would love to come to England too. What cities should I see if I ever get to go?

      Hi Tyler, Responding to your question, you should see: London, Colchester[the oldest recorded town in Great Britain] , Newcastle and Edinburgh.
      Also, Do you have a Games Console [PlayStation, Xbox, iPad etc.]and what games do you like to play on it?

      Hello Oliver. I am Josiah. Our lunchtime is from 12:45-1:15 each day. We eat with the other class in our lunchroom. The three sixth grade classes eat at that time too. We get to sit with our friends and talk. Our dismissal starts at 2:40. If our parents don't pick us up by 3, then we go to Aftercare. This is kind of fun, but also they make us work on our homework there too. What is your school like?

      Hello my name is Toby I like Bible and math class. We do have clubs here. We have a Lego club, a drama club, a chess club, an honor society, and many sports clubs. What do you have at your school? Our school starts at 8:00am.

      Hi Dylan. My name is Dylan too! Our school is fun, but we work a lot. What do you mean by breaks? Does this mean from school or throughout our day? We change classes here. That means I see one teacher for four subjects, another teacher for two subjects, and yet another teacher for another subject. We get recess (free play time) three times a week and then have physical education for two times a week. What do you like most about your school?

      Hi. It gets to be about 98 degrees most days in the summer. Sometimes it might feel like it is over 100 when we have high humidity. In the winter it doesn't get too cold. Our low so far this year has been 39 degrees. Hope you stay warm!

      Hi to me it's sounds that in the U.S.A that is warm most if the time. In the summer does it really hot? 98 degrees for us that would be boiling hot.

      Hi Eva, my name is Diana. My favorite subject at school is math. I like English too, but it sometimes get a bit tricky for me. Our school is small, yet we get to do many things like track and field events.

We are learning about American history, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions in math, circuits and how they work in science, the story of David in Bible, mysteries in reading and we are writing essays in grammar class.       Hi again! We do wear school uniforms. What do your uniforms look like? Ours our blue or khaki bottoms with a white, light blue, or dark blue polo shirt. Sometimes we have casual days. Our school is a church school. How about yours? We learn about math, science, reading, grammar, PE, history, Bible, computers, art, and music. What do you learn about?

      Hi Thomas. My name is Nicolas. I like soccer too. I play it all the time with my friends at school. My teacher's favorite sport is hockey. She had some players come out to our school. It was fun meeting them. My favorite school topic is math and spelling. Our class took a vote and math is the winner. We love sports too. Have a wonderful day!

    I have a question for you. In the States we say math, yet you all have stated you study maths. I am interested as to why there is a "S" at the end of math for you. I bet this is just a difference in our customs. I was just wondering. WE loved hearing from you and we cannot wait to continue blogging with you.

      I think we say maths as it is short for mathematics (ending in 's'). Only a guess, will consult with Google. Good to see the replies coming in. Our school choir is off to London on Monday to perform with 7000 other children in a concert at the o2 Arena which was the Millennium Dome.

Have you planned a Skype time with Miss. Vidler yet? We look forward to seeing you all. We finish school on Friday for a 'half term' break for a week then it is our second half term of the spring term finishing on Thursday before Good Friday. We had pancake races today for Shrove Tuesday (think you call it Mardi Gras). I will add some pictures to the website soon.
